Glomerular fine structure in mixed membranous and proliferative glomerulonephritis.

چکیده
A case of mixed membranous and proliferative glomerulonephritis has been studied by light and electron microscopy. Electron microscopy has shown that the cellular proliferation is mesangial in origin and that there are qualitative and quantitative alterations in the filtration basement membrane. In addition there are numerous examples of direct contact between filtration basement membrane and neutrophil polymorphonuclear leucocytes. This latter phenomenon is good direct evidence that interaction of glomerular-bound antigen-antibody complex and complement has taken place. The light and electron microscopic evidence is thus in favour of the histopathological entity, mixed membranous and proliferative glomerulonephritis, being fundamentally a proliferative glomerular lesion initiated by complement-induced basement membrane injury.

The immunohistopathology of glomerular antigens. The glomerular basement membrane, collagen, and actomyosin antigens in normal and diseased kidneys.
The immunofluorescent localization of antisera to human glomerular basement membrane (GBM), collagen, and smooth muscle actomyosin was examined in 15 specimens of normal renal tissue and 98 specimens from patients with renal disease. The anti-GBM and anticollagen antisera normally localize to GBM, while antiactomyosin localizes to the mesangium. Diabetic nephropathy revealed a striking expansio...
متن کاملIgA nephropathy in two HLA-identical brothers and acute, diffuse proliferative glomerulonephritis in the third, HLA-different brother.
Dr. L. Grčevska, Department of Nephrology, Medical Faculty, Vodnjanska 17, YU-91000 Skopje (Yugoslavia) Dear Sir, Various heredofamilial diseases involve the kidney, but there are also renal diseases in which familial aggregation can occur, such as IgA glomerulopathy, lupus nephritis, membranous nephropathy and vesicoureteral reflux [1-4]. We want to present 3 brothers who developed signs of gl...
متن کاملA Case of Proliferative Glomerulonephritis with Monoclonal IgG Deposits That Showed Predominantly Membranous Features
In 2004, the novel category of monoclonal IgG deposition disease has been proposed and termed "proliferative glomerulonephritis with monoclonal IgG deposits" (PGNMID). This disease is characterized by membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis and staining for a single light-chain isotype and gamma heavy-chain subclass. A 76-year-old male who had monoclonal gammopathy was referred to our hospital...

Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) associated glomerular disease are mainly membranous glomerulonephritis, m embranoproliferative glomerulonephritis, essential mixed criyoglobulinemia, IgA nephropathy and diffuse proliferative glomerulonephritis. The pathogenesis of HBV related GN has been defined as chronic antigenemia and passive deposition of immune complex in glomeruli. We reported here a pati...
متن کاملAnti-Glomerular Basement Membrane Disease Accompanied by Membrano Proliferative Glomerulonephritis: A Case Report
Anti-glomerular basement membrane disease is characterized by autoimmunity to antigenic sites on type IV collagen of the glomerular basement membrane. The majority of patients present with rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis and alveolar hemorrhage. The occurrence of antiglomerular basement membrane disease and other types of glomerulonephritis, such as membranous nephropathy, IgA nephropath...
